This page features some of my recent work. This isn’t a comprehensive view of everything I’ve done but rather a hand picked selection of some of my most notable projects with a brief explanation of why I’ve chosen to feature each one here.

If you like what you see and want to hire me to work on your project please contact me to talk.

A.G. Block was one of my first clients back in 2004. In 2010 they contacted me to refresh the site I created for them back then. We decided to completely overhaul the site and improve everything from the design to the underlying code. I created a custom product catalogue management system to enable the staff on site to easily update the site with new information and pictures themselves.

The site also features a complex contact form system which updates to include products as they are added to the catalogue and collects customer details into a database for future reference.

I also created a matching email template to maintain a consistent brand look and feel through all the companies digital communications.

mtmconsulting contacted me with an urgent, strict 30 day deadline from commission to launch as they needed a new site live before a planned conference they were hosting took place – and an expected increase in traffic. I immediately began working with one of their consultants to quickly come up with design drafts and, once approved and finalised, implement the design into WordPress. Because the site is based on the WordPress platform it was very quick for me to set up a fully self-managed site which is regularly updated by mtm’s in-house staff multiple times per week.

For this site I created a content management system from scratch to create a simple process for editing content and adding photo galleries and documents for download. It features a password secured private area for the school to share information with parents of students at the school.

Heath Tully is a ‘creative maverick’ and the creator of Project183.com. Heath contacted me with a clear vision: to create a unique and quirky website that was not your average run of the mill blog site. He proposed using marker pen to draw much of the site. I suggested we lay the site out as if it was drawn out in plan form on a giant white board and have the browser pan around the board to review different content.

We also integrated a simple “easter egg” into the site which reveals some secret content when certain objects scattered around the site are found and selected.

While the design for this site is not my work but rather that of a friend and colleague at the time I feature this site here because it was my first large project using WordPress as a content management system – not just the blog management tool it was designed to be.

I led development and integration of the HTML/CSS templates into the WordPress system and built a lot of custom functionality to handle a wide range of content templates, menus and automatic cross linking of related pages.

“Shaun’s work on our Kingswood website has been of the highest quality and I am very happy with the end result. This website will see a huge step change in the information we are able to provide to our clients online, resulting in increased awareness and sales. Shaun is always very pleasant to deal with and even manages to execute my often huge list of frequent amends speedily and efficiently, with no issues! I would have no doubt in using Shaun again.”
